GRIFFITH – Ray Kasmark, district manager of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 697, has been honored by the Lake Area United Way for his contributions to the organization.
“Ray is deeply committed to working families throughout the state and to United way’s mission of advancing the common good so everyone can live a better life,” said Dennis Lowery, president of Calumet College of St. Joseph and the chairman of United Way.
Kasmark has served on the Labor Participation Committee and on the Allocations Committee. In 2006 he was elected Lake Area United Way’s chairman and served wo three-year terms on the board. In 2010, he led LAUW’s annual campaign.
“I am very proud to receive this award. Our union members at IBEW Local 697 together with many other members of organized labor know how to live united,” said Kasmark.
