United Technologies to sell Sullair

MICHIGAN CITY – United Technologies, the parent company for Sullair Corp. of Michigan City, has announced it may sell the company as a way to raise cash for another acquisition.

Sullair, one of the city’s largest employers, is one of five business units United Technologies has put on the market. It wants to raise $3 billion to acquire Goodrich Corp., a major aerospace and defense contractor.

Other business units up for sales are Pratt and Whitney Rocketdyne, Clipper Windpower, Milton Roy and Sundyne.
