LAPORTE – The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the American Diabetes Association announced Dr. Vinay Tumuluri received honors from the Diabetes Physician Recognition Program for providing expert care to patients with diabetes.
This voluntary program recognizes Tumuluri for valuing quality healthcare delivery and the latest clinical protocols to ensure patients with diabetes receive the best care at the right time. To receive the honor, Tumuluri submitted data demonstrating he meets the program’s key diabetes care measures, including: blood glucose control, blood pressure control, cholesterol control, eye examinations, nerves and nervous system assessment as well as smoking and tobacco use cessation advice and treatment. These measures, according to NCQA, ensure people with diabetes receive quality care and are less likely to suffer complications such as heart attacks, stroke, blindness, kidney disease and amputations.
