Texas company donates $52,000 to PUC

HAMMOND – Mass. Electric Construction Co. of Irving, Texas, has donated $52,000 to Purdue University Calumet to support its construction management and engineering technologies program.

MEC has employed several Purdue Calumet graduates. It is one of the nation’s largest electrical contractors.

The donation will be used to enhance a Purdue Calumet Construction Management and Engineering Technologies laboratory. The program current has 165 students.

“We are extremely appreciative of this generous gift from Mass. Electric,” said Anthony Gregory, department head of the Construction Science and Organizational Leadership Department. “The relationship that has been established between our program and MEC will have a long lasting and positive effect on student success.
