HAMMOND – The American Group of Constructors (TAG) hosted members of its staff and their families at its annual Safety Retreat at Key Lime Cove in Gurnee, Ill. The event emphasizes the importance of safety both at work and at home.

“Renewed awareness of your commitment to safety affects more than just yourself,” TAG CEO John Marsch said. “It affects your family, your co-workers and their families.”

During the retreat, TAG recognized three employees in particular for their commitment to this idea. Larry Brookshire received an award for “Safety in the Trenches,” Jeff O’Rourke was named “Most Improved in Safety Excellence,” and Jason Rettig was honored for “Safety in Planning.”

Featured speakers included BP Contractor Liaison Ed Stevens, Ron Kurth, founder of Aquatics Underwater Recovery and Rescue Unit, Inc., Steve Bojan of HUB International insurance company, and Jim Bain, president of Falcon Performance Institute.
