SOUTH BEND – The South Bend Redevelopment Corp. has announced it will invest $6.1 million to rehabilitate one of the only remaining buildings of the Studebaker complex into a technology center.
The 1 million-square-foot building is at the south edge of downtown near Coveleski Stadium. The owner, Union Station Properties, plans to invest $10 million over the next 10 years to convert it into a data center to support tech companies.
South Bend’s investment will pay for asbestos removal and façade improvements.
