MISHAWAKA – St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and OB/GYN Associates of Northern Indiana (OBNI), a division of Allied Physicians of Michiana, LCC, have joined forces to offer maternal-child services to Michiana, with the recent launch of the OB Hospitalist Program at the Mishawaka Campus.

Offered through The Family Birthplace, this specialized program consists of board-certified OB/GYNs who are onsite throughout the night, and on weekends, to provide the highest level of care to pregnant and laboring women.

“The OB Hospitalist Program provides our patients with immediate access to a board-certified OB/GYN physician, should the need arise in the middle of the night,” said Dr. Lynnette Watkins, vice president and Chief Medical Officer at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

The OB Hospitalist Program does not change the relationship the patient has with her regular OB/GYN physician. Instead, the role of the OB Hospitalist is to provide timely, advanced care for patients who are at the hospital with emergent needs. The board-certified OB/GYN physicians of OBNI include Michele L. Ashton, Tracy Swetz Byrne, Leonard R. Ferguson, and Kelly Wayne McGuire.

The Family Birthplace is located on the fourth floor of the SJRMC Mishawaka Campus, at 5215 Holy Cross Parkway. OB/GYN Associates of Northern Indiana is located at 6301 University Commons, Suite 130, South Bend.
