HAMMOND – The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority was awarded first place for large show event poster during the marketing awards at the 2012 International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) convention. The convention was held in Las Vegas in December.

The ICAS Marketing Awards recognize outstanding achievement in event, product and service promotion by air shows, air show performers and air show support service providers. The awards also expose other members to new ideas and creativity from those who have developed successful marketing campaigns.

Each year the ICAS convention brings together about 1,500 Air Show professionals to exchange ideas, conduct business and begin planning from the upcoming air show season. Members include event planners, air show performers and air show support, such as photography, vendors and insurance.

The South Shore Air Show’s 2013 dates are July 12-14 at Marquette Park in Gary.
