South Bend Symphony opens 78th season

            SOUTH BEND – The South Bend Symphony Orchestra will present Masterworks I: With One Voice at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, in the Morris Performing Arts Center. Maestro Tsung Yeh and the South Bend Symphony Orchestra open the 78th season with the “Firebird Suite” by Stravinsky and the World Premiere of “Requiem for the Innocent” by Jorge A. Muniz.

            The two pieces tell the story of rebirth.

            The concert is sponsored by the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts, Indiana University South Bend, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The South Bend Symphony receives a General Operating Grant from the Indiana Arts Commission.
