The Transportation Security Administration was named by the St. Joseph County Authority as the 2022 Partner of the Year Award recipient.
The TSA was presented the award during the Feb. 28 board meeting. The airport authority oversees South Bend International Airport.
The award is presented to a business partner, which made significant accomplishments within the past year that have contributed to the ongoing success and services offered at SBN.
“We regularly hear about positive experiences travelers have when going through security at SBN,” said Mike Daigle, SBN CEO and executive director. “The transportation security officers engage with a smile and positive attitude that directly impacts the travel experience.”
The TSA officers have been on the frontline to provide safe screening services for all travelers throughout the on-going pandemic, airport officials said.
“On behalf of the TSA officers and staff, we’re truly honored to receive this recognition,” said Aaron Batt, Indiana federal security director. “Collaboration is key to delivering a safe, efficient security experience for passengers, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen our partnership with SBN.”
