MERRILLVILLE — The Shamrocks Motorcycle Club will host their national convention at Radisson Hotel Star Plaza Aug. 14 through Aug 17. Approximately 50-75 members will attend, with members coming from New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Mississippi, Michigan and Indiana.

During the convention, The Shamrocks Motorcycle Club will participate in a charity ride and benefit for Warriors First Foundation on Saturday, Aug. 16. The ride will begin with registration and breakfast at 10:00 a.m. at Bar Louie in Merrillville. The first bike is scheduled to leave by 12:00 p.m. and the ride will conclude at Radisson Hotel Star Plaza, leading into the Warriors First Foundation Benefit. Street bikes, cruisers, trikes and cars are welcome to participate in the ride.

Cost to participate in the charity ride is $25 per rider, $40 for a rider with a passenger and $25 per car. Those who participate in the ride will receive a wristband for admittance into the Warriors First Foundation benefit. For benefit attendees who do not participate in the charity ride, admission costs $15 per person. The benefit is a family-fun event and will include a silent auction and live music. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
