MISHAWAKA — Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) and South Bend Parks and Recreation are partnering again to offer Senior Fit, a free exercise program for those 55 years of age and older. To help kick off the newly added Senior Fit classes, seniors are invited to a Kick-off Event on Wednesday, February 12th, from 1 – 2 p.m., allowing those interested in 55+ and senior exercise to see the facility, learn more about the program and complete the necessary paperwork.

Currently, Senior Fit exercise classes are offered daily in the mornings at Martin Luther King Recreation Center and O'Brien Fitness Center. In addition, The Sanctuary at St. Paul's, a retirement community and sister facility to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, has offered Senior Fit classes in the evenings since February 2013. Additional Senior Fit exercise classes, 45-minutes in length, will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 1 p.m. at the recreation building at Pinhook Park, 2801 Riverside Drive, just south of Cleveland Rd.

For more information about Senior Fit or the kickoff at Pinhook Park on February 12th, call Mary Jo Campbell, Senior Services Navigator, Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center’s Outreach Services Department, 574-335-3891 or e-mail campmajo@sjrmc.com.
