KNOX – Selected Furniture LLC will open a distribution and manufacturing plant in Knox. The company announced it was closing is distribution center in Chicago and manufacturing operation in China and combining both into an operation in Knox.
Selected Furniture will spend $1 million to buy, renovate and equip a 201,000 square foot building. The company said the move will create 25 jobs in Knox immediately and as many as 100 jobs by 2014.
Selected Furniture primarily works with the hospitality industry making restaurant table tops, booths, chairs and bar stools. It is expected the company will be operating in Knox by July.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. provided $425,000 in tax credits and $87,500 in training grants to Selected Furniture.
