Rundle is director of quality at IU Health

LAPORTE – Sharon Rundle has been named Director of Quality, Patient Safety and Satisfaction for Indiana University Health LaPorte and Starke hospitals.

She will oversee the departments, including infection control, for both hospitals. In addition, she will oversee the cancer registry program as well as handle nurse coordination, education and research programs affiliated with Michiana Hematology Oncology in Westville.

Rundle has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare field, the majority of her career at Community Hospital in Munster. She also has worked at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Methodist Hospital in Gary, and the Center for Specialty Surgery in Munster. Her nursing expertise includes medical/surgical, critical care, nursing administration, case management, ambulatory surgery, quality/safety, regulatory compliance and project management. Most recently, Rundle served as Director of Quality and Safety at IU Health Starke Hospital since 2011.

She received her associate in nursing from Purdue University, her bachelor of science in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and her Master of Arts in Organizational Management and Organizational Leadership from Ashford University, Iowa.
