HB 1403 Regional Cities passed the House 85-8 on Feb. 24. It will be sponsored in the Senate by Sen. Ed Charbonneau (R-Valparaiso) and hearings will resume next week in the Senate. Also, HB 1001 – State Biennial Budget advanced through the House by a vote of 69-29. The Senate will now consider HB 1001 beginning in the Senate Appropriations Committee. Funding for Regional Cities has been severely reduced ($84 million to $10 million). The bill now moves to the Senate for further consideration/modification.

If you care about funding for Regional Cities, contact members of the Indiana Senate to explain the importance of the program, and why they should fully restore funding to $84M. HB 1403 and HB 1001 are now in the Senate.
