PORTAGE — Plans are underway for an educational and familiarization tour of Northwest Indiana for the Indiana General Assembly and key members of the Administration beginning Friday, September 13 wrapping up on Sunday, September 15. The event is being organized by the NWI Legislative Delegation, the Northwest Indiana Forum (a regional economic development organization) and a growing number of regional partners representing business and industry, news media, construction and trades, non-profits, and tourism and gaming.
This visit is a unique opportunity for all legislators to gain first-hand knowledge of Northwest Indiana, all the great things in the region and the work yet to be done. It will be beneficial for the many new legislators who recently completed their first year in office as well as for longer serving legislators to more fully grasp the assets and challenges of Northwest Indiana.
