VALPARAISO — The RDC donates to economic development in Valparaiso. “The Regional Development Company is a proud supporter of the economic development efforts by the Valparaiso Economic Development Corporation (VEDC),” said Erica Dombey, president and executive director of the RDC. “We have a long tradition of giving back to the communities of Northwest Indiana to assist with job creation and growth. The contribution of $1,000 this year is evidence of that commitment.”
The RDC administers the US Small Business Administration 504 loans. The SBA 504 loan program was created as an economic development tool to create jobs and assist small businesses in creating capital investment in commercial real estate and equipment. The program allows businesses to put as little as 10% down on the purchase of owner occupied commercial property. The program is often used in conjunction with other local and state incentives to locate businesses to the Northwest Indiana region.
“The VEDC is so pleased with the partnership we have with the RDC, as it is a tremendous resource for economic development in this region,” stated Rex G. Richards, President of the Valparaiso Economic Development Corporation. “ We will be using this financial support from the RDC to help sponsor a meeting with site selectors at a major gathering in Indianapolis in late August who have projects they are looking to site in the Midwest. “
