Purdue University Calumet Educators/Staff Earn Recognition

HAMMOND — Six Purdue University Calumet faculty and staff members have been recognized for recent achievements.

* Naperville, Ill. professor/administrator elected to ABET Board of Directors

Mohammad Zahraee, Purdue University Calumet professor of mechanical engineering technology and assistant dean of graduate studies, has been appointed to the ABET Board of Directors, as a representative of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

* Hammond professor receives award for ‘Innovative Science Teaching’
Assistant Professor of Science Education Sharon Schleigh has been named 2013 recipient of the Distinguished Award for Innovative Science Teaching by The Hoosier Association of Science Teachers, Inc. (HASTI).

* Crete, Ill. behavioral scientist gains family life certification

Anne Edwards, Purdue University Calumet associate professor and head of the Department of Behavioral Sciences, recently earned an internationally recognized certification in family life education.

* Munster communication professor delivers keynote address
Purdue University Calumet Professor of Communication Yahya Kamalipour of Munster delivered a keynote address at the opening session of the recent Seventh Global Communication Association Conference at St. Paul University in Ottawa, Canada.

* 2 Information Systems administrators present at Midwest Networking Roundtable
Timothy Loudermilk, supervisor of networking, and Javier Solis, network administrator, presented the topic, “How Purdue University Calumet Maintains Sanity in a Campus BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Environment.”
