HAMMOND — Purdue University Calumet will had much to celebrate at the October 8th news conference!

The 2013 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded earlier today to theorists Peter Higgs and Francois Englert for their work developing the Higgs field theory, which led to the discovery of the Higgs boson subatomic particle.

Purdue University Calumet Professor of Physics Dr. Neeti Parashar has been part of the team of worldwide researchers responsible for advancing the discovery.

Also called the God particle, this discovery shapes and enhances understanding of the natural universe.
