Purdue Northwest welcomes new advisory board
Purdue University Northwest recently announced the new members of its Alumni Advisory Board.
The board includes 14 alumni with diverse backgrounds working in a variety of industries.
“We are fortunate to have accomplished and motivated alumni sharing their time and energy to advance their alma mater’s impact,” said Katie Holderby, director of alumni engagement, in a press release.
The new Alumni Advisory Board met last month. Board members serve as partners for university leaders. They offer insights as alumni and professionals with roots in their communities.
The inaugural Alumni Advisory Board members include:

- Kelly Anoe – Legacy Foundation president and CEO
- John Freyek – Horizon Bank market president
- Ken Giden – Azure Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, Microsoft sales executive
- Niyah Hall – AMXL Network, Amazon WFS business specialist
- Dakita Jones – Centier Bank vice president of community relations
- Carl Kurek – Lakeshore Public Media vice president of development
- Calvin-Charles Mead – Rolls Royce controls system software engineer
- Sandra Patino – NWI Tax LLC tax associate
- Jahaira Perez – PNW employee relations manager
- Spencer Summers – NWI Forum director of economic development
- Darien Thompson – PNW director of student success and urban engagement
- Jasmin Zamora – Everwise Credit Union director of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging
- Sherri Ziller – Northwest Indiana Regional Development Authority president and CEO
“The PNW Alumni Advisory Board members’ collective experience and community connections will help us continue engaging in meaningful ways with our constituents,” Holderby said.
Purdue University Northwest has campuses in Hammond and Westville. The university serves about 8,900 undergraduate and graduate students. Students from 30 states and 50 countries currently attend PNW.
