WEST LAFAYETTE – Purdue University’s programs in engineering, education and business continue to be ranked among the best in the country in U.S. News & World Report’s graduate school rankings.

“These rankings, particularly the sustained upward movement by both the College of Engineering and the College of Education over the last several years, show that Purdue continues to excel in education at the graduate level,” said Timothy Sands, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost.

Purdue's College of Engineering was ranked No. 8 in the country. Last year, the college's graduate program was ranked 10th. Eight of the schools in engineering are in the top 10 in the nation in specialty rankings, including a No. 1 ranking for agricultural and biological and engineering. Aeronautics and astronautics ranked sixth; civil engineering ranked sixth; mechanical engineering ranked eighth; nuclear engineering ranked eighth, tied with Pennsylvania State University; electrical engineering ranked 10th; and industrial engineering ranked 10th.

Purdue's College of Education ranked 32nd, tied with the College of William and Mary, the University of Illinois-Chicago, the University of Iowa and the University of Pittsburgh. Purdue's ranking is up from 37th last year.
