HAMMOND – Purdue University Calumet’s Educational Talent Search program has received a $5,000 grant from the UPS Foundation to provide services to help bridge the educational opportunity gap for first generation and low-income students.
“We are pleased to be a recipient of the UPS grant,” said Melvyn Harding, director of educational talent search at PUC. “These dollars will provide us an opportunity to expose more students to college readiness activities, including college tours, leadership development and summer academic bridge programs.
As the charitable arm of UPS, the UPS Foundation supports efforts like nonprofit effectiveness, economic and global literacy, diversity, community safety and environmental sustainability. Last year, the UPS Foundation distributed more than $44.6 million in grants worldwide.
