Purdue Calumet Psychology Graduates Earn Award

HAMMOND — Two Purdue University Calumet spring graduates have earned what arguably is psychology’s most prestigious undergraduate research award.

After presenting and defending their research project at the recent Stanford University Undergraduate Psychology Conference in Palo Alto, Calif., Brittany Komacsar of Schererville and Julissa Lopez of Crown Point took home the coveted Stanford Prize.

Two Stanford Prizes were awarded at the conference from entries of more than 1,000 student researchers worldwide. The Purdue Calumet students’ research project is titled, “Cognitive Tasks and Decision Making: The Effect of Cognitive Stress on Choice.”
