HAMMOND – Purdue University Calumet has announced fall enrollment for 2011 is down by 21 students from last year. Enrollment is 9,786, but the freshman and sophomore retention rate was 71.3 percent, up from 70.7 percent last years.

“We continue to transition and develop strategies for increasing the quality of students who choose to attend Purdue University Calumet,” said Chancellor Thomas Keon. “While much of our current enrollment data is not indicative of where we want to be, we believe we are heading in the right direction.”

Keon also announced that students are enrolled in 101,243 credit hours, down from 104,101 last year.
