HAMMOND — Purdue University Calumet professor and scholar Kathleen Tobin contends that “what we hear about Cuba does not come close to telling the whole story.”
That is one reason why the associate professor of Latin American Studies wrote the book, ‘Of God and Cuba,’ recently published by Mill City Press, Inc. Tobin, who has visited the nearby Caribbean island nation three times, expressed in the book a deeper understanding of Cuban people, culture and its differences with the United States.
Her book also addresses political and economic differences between Cuba and the United States. Overall, she describes the book as a personal journey through her research process and experiences in Cuba.
