VALPARAISO – Porter Regional Hospital is seeking to honor one of its nurses through its annual Patient Choice Award program. The award recognizes the level of quality care, comfort and compassion offered by nurses each day.
Continuing the tradition of the last few years, the hospital is asking for input from the community, and one nurse chosen from the nominations will receive the Patient Choice Award at Porter Regional Hospital this June.
Porter asks former patients and family members to be involved in spotlighting an exceptional nurse because patients are the ones directly impacted by outstanding care.
“We are asking patients and their family members to provide us with the nominations because they see the little things that matter so much on a very personal level,” said Taffy Arias, chief nursing officer for Porter.
Nominations for the 2013 Patient Choice Award will be accepted until Friday, May 17.
