VALPARAISO – Porter Regional Hospital, which opened Aug. 25, 2012, recently won two construction project awards.

Porter’s contractor, Robins & Morton, won the Associated Builders and Contractors Award of Excellence. This award honors all members of the construction team, the owner, designer and contractor and is judged by an out-of-state panel of professionals on quality control, safety record, scheduling, value engineering and unique challenges faced in completing the project.

Porter Regional Hospital subcontractor Rieth-Riley Construction Co. was awarded the Pavement Award – Non Governmental New Construction by the Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana (APAI). APAI recognizes the highest quality asphalt paving projects throughout the state.

“We are so proud of our new facility and to all involved in its construction,” said Porter Health Care System CEO Jonathan Nalli. “These accolades just validate our commitment to quality throughout Porter Regional Hospital.”

Porter Health Care System has two hospital campuses and seven outpatient facilities serving Porter, Lake, LaPorte, Starke, Newton and Jasper counties
