VALPARAISO – In just over four hours, Porter Regional Hospital completed the move to its new location at Indiana 49 and U.S. 6. The moved required 35 ambulances to move 95 patients and was completed without incident.
CEO Jonathan Nalli said 18 months of planning went into the move to the new $210 million hospital in Liberty Township. He said the move cost about $1 million.
The new hospital has 237 patient beds and was built to provide a more central location for patients from Valparaiso, Portage and Chesterton.
