PNC SHRM Student Chapter Receives Merit Award

WESTVILLE — The Purdue University North Central student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has been awarded a 2014-2015 Student Chapter Merit Award designation from the Society for Human Resource Management for providing exceptional growth and development opportunities to its student chapter members.

SHRM is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. Representing more than 275,000 professional and 20,000 student members in over 160 countries, the association serves the needs of HR professionals and advances the interests of the HR profession.

Through its monthly meetings, activities and presentations, the PNC SHRM student chapter has provided skills and professional development opportunities for its members.  Recent activities have included a professional resume writing skills workshop, business etiquette and networking session, and the do’s and don’ts of academic presentations. The PNC SHRM Chapter Advisor is Dr. Anne Christo-Baker, PNC associate professor of Organizational Behavior and Leadership.
