VALPARAISO – United Way of Porter County held its 2nd annual fund-raising golf outing at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton.
The event has 171 registered golfers and raised more than $50,000. The top team was Bob Scheller, Jim Donahue, Justin Blackburn and Chris Fisher of Lake Park Surgicare.
United Way of Porter County supports 36 partner agencies. “We are pleased that we can kickoff our annual campaign with a premier, county-wide event,” said Greg Fox, co-owner of Kramer & Leonard and a board member for United Way. “Golf Classic proceeds will be added to what we raise this fall and will then be distributed to many worthwhile programs like before/after school programs for our youth, Meals on Wheels for our homebound elderly, and employment assistance for people with disabilities.”
