WEST LAFAYETTE – Anyone who owns woodlands property can learn more about how to care for and enjoy it by attending the Ohio River Valley Woodland and Wildlife workshop co-sponsored by Purdue Extension.

The program will be on April 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Clifty Falls State Park, 1501 Green Road, Madison.

The workshop offers a variety of topics, including plant and animal identification, invasive species, honeybees and pond management. Experts from Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky will be presenters.

“The workshop is an excellent opportunity to learn many aspects of managing the wildlife, forest and aquatic resources on your property,” said Rob Chapman, an Extension wildlife specialist. “There will be topics including establishing pollinator habitat, managing amphibians, controlling invasive species and emerging tree disease issues.”

Two continuing certification hours are available for categories 1, 2, 5 and 6 of the Indiana Pesticides Applicator Licenses program. Three CCH credits are available for the RT category.

Registration of $45 per person by March 21 and $55 after that date may be completed online at or by printing and sending the workshop registration form to the Indiana Forestry and Woodland Owners Association, 1007 N. 725 W, West Lafayette, 47906. Checks should be payable to IFWOA.
