CROWN POINT — Patrick O'Brien has joined the nursing faculty at the University of Saint Francis Crown Point as a mental health instructor for the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program.
O'Brien spent nearly 20 years in Illinois law enforcement, working as an emergency medical technician (EMT) and certified firefighter for Sauk Village and then the Sauk Village Police Department. He then joined the Lansing Police Department, working in patrol, traffic enforcement, crime scene investigation and as a detective, before becoming a certified EMT-paramedic and paramedic coordinator. He and his wife, Sarah, have been married over 19 years and have a son, Liam.
