Tamara Awald was promoted to chief quality officer for Northwest Health.
Awald, a resident of Lakeville, has more than 20 years of health care experience. She started her career in nursing at Northwest Health – Starke in Knox and advanced into a variety of consulting and executive positions at both community hospitals and large integrated health systems around the country.
Prior to her promotion to chief quality officer, Awald served as CQO for Northwest Health – La Porte and Starke.
Awald earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Goshen College, a master’s of science in health administration and a master’s of business administration from the University of Saint Francis in Joliet, Illinois. She is currently a doctoral candidate in health administration.
Awald has numerous certifications including: Certified Nursing Executive – Advanced; Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management; Legal Nurse Consultant – Certified; Professional Healthcare Advocate; and Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Northwest Health operates La Porte and Knox hospitals as well as Northwest Health – Porter in Valparaiso, Northwest Medical Group, Northwest Health Emergency Medical Services, Northwest Health Occupational Medicine and affiliated outpatient locations in Chesterton, Michigan City, Portage and Valparaiso.
