MERRILLVILE – NiSource Inc., the parent company for Northern Indiana Public Service Co., has announced a 34.7 percent increase in earnings. First quarter earnings were $260.5 million, with a major portion of that due to the sale of AGL Resources in January.
The utility’s income from continuing operations in the first quarter was $215.4 million, up 11.9 percent from $192.5 million one year ago.
