NWIBQ News LogoMERRILLVILLE — Since 2011, NIPSCO employees have raised more than a half million dollars to
support local nonprofit organizations in their communities through the annual Charity of Choice
campaign – an employee-drive fundraising effort where the benefiting organization is selected by
employees. For 2017, employees have chosen to support Veteran organizations.

As part of this year’s campaign, NIPSCO is committed to raising $100,000 to fund organizations that
provide programs and services to Veterans in northern Indiana.

“To broaden the opportunity for support, the application portion of the campaign is new this year,”
said Larry Graham, executive director of communications and public affairs for NIPSCO. “With an
overwhelming response from our employees to support our Veterans, we wanted to provide a
process that would give our many Veteran organizations the opportunity for additional funding to
support the programs and services they offer.

Grants are available in the amounts of $500 to $5,000. Applications will be accepted through July 22,
2017, with grant awards announced during the last week of August. All interested organizations are
asked to submit an online application at NIPSCO.com/Community. Eligible organizations must be a
501(c)3 or other nonprofits as defined by the Internal Revenue Service.
