HAMMOND – The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority has released its 2013-14 visitors’ map. The map features various festivals, attractions, restaurants, shopping, accommodations, parks and visitor services.
The map’s cover image is a photograph taken by South Shore tourist Scott Keithley during the 2012 Summer Fun Along the South Shore photo contest. Keithley and his son Aiden, were visiting family in Lowell from the Moody Air Force Base in Georgia. Keithley and Aiden had spent the day playing on the beach and hiking the dunes when Keithley snapped a photo of his son playing in the water.
According to Keithley, he and Aiden were very excited to have won the photography contest and to have the image used on the cover of maps.
“While the lakeshore is only one facet of what the region offers, Keithley’s photograph really illustrates the kind of family-fun that can be found along the South Shore,” said Speros Batistatos, president and CEO of the South Shore CVA.
Maps may be picked up at the Indiana Welcome Center, various hotels, attractions and businesses, or by requesting one from the South Shore CVA website at www.southshorecva.com.
