GARY – On Thursday, April 2, at 11:00 a.m. the Fuller Center for Housing of Gary (FCH/Gary) in collaboration with the City of Gary will officially open the doors during a Ribbon-Cutting announcement at 2331 and 2449 Jackson Street in Gary. These are the sites of a newly constructed and renovated home that were built during the City’s summer “Jackson Street of Dreams” event. Work continued on the homes throughout the summer and fall until completion, and now families have been approved to take occupancy.

Corporate sponsors, supporters and volunteers include NIPSCO, the Indiana Department of Correction, Centier Bank, the Majestic Star Casino and the Gary RailCats. The homes are offered to qualified buyers to purchase with no interest loans, managed by The Fuller Center for Housing of Gary.  Volunteers from local organizations and from across the country assisted in completing the construction along with the consistent efforts of inmates from the IDOC.
