The Music Village Finalizes New Lease

SOUTH BEND – The Music Village finalizes new lease agreement with the St. Joseph County Public Library, TMV Executive Director Josh Aerie announced.

The Music Village will move into the currently-vacant building at 301 South Michigan Street in downtown South Bend, which will dramatically increase the center's visibility and accessibility. In contrast to TMV’s current location in the lower-level of the JMS Building at 108 North Main Street in South Bend, the new facility will be at street-level with numerous windows and dedicated parking.

The Music Village will also share adjacent facilities with the library and benefit from its location on the library’s soon-to-be remodeled campus. Collaborative programming and other partnership initiatives with the library are currently in the works.

In a statement Aerie notes, “Prior to move-in, The Music Village will renovate and build out the new property, creating a vibrant, inviting community musical arts center and school. TMV’s Board of Directors and I are in the process of determining both the interior and exterior design that will allow us to best serve our student and participant musicians, and enhance South Bend’s downtown arts and cultural scene.”

TMV will be seeking support, feedback and assistance as it moves through the build-out phase and toward move-in day. Aerie states that plans for fundraising opportunities are expected to be announced soon.
