SOUTH BEND – The Morris Performing Arts Center, South Bend, continues to shine on the Pollstar 2016 Third Quarter Top 100 Worldwide Theatre Venue rankings. The Morris is listed at #100 based on January 1 to September 30, 2016, ticket sales, as reported in the October 17, 2016, issue of Pollstar magazine, the concert industry’s leading trade publication. South Bend’s favorite live performance venue shines alongside such well-known venues as Radio City Music Hall, New York City; Chicago Theatre; and the Fox Theatres in Atlanta and Detroit. The Morris is the only theatre in the state of Indiana to be listed on the 2016 Third Quarter Top 100 rankings. The Pollstar 2016 Third Quarter rankings include 18 venues located in other countries. In the top 100 U.S. theatres, the Morris is ranked #82.

Originally opening in 1922, The Morris is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was completely restored and renovated in 2000. The Morris has a fixed seating capacity of 2,500 and has been consistently ranked each year since 2000 by Pollstar concert industry magazine among the top theaters worldwide. The Morris was awarded a “Prime Site Award” by Facilities Magazine for 11 consecutive years (2006-2016) (voted on by over 10,000 people in the entertainment industry — booking agents, promoters, talent buyers and special event planners.) The Morris was awarded the prestigious national “2015 Outstanding Historic Theatre Award” by the League of Historic American Theatres (LHAT) (given to historic theatres that demonstrate excellence in community impact, quality of programs and services, and quality of physical restoration.) The Morris has been voted the South Bend Tribune Readers Choice Award for “Favorite Entertainment/Live Performance Theater” for 14 consecutive years (2003-2016.)
