Following a multi-million dollar kitchen renovation this past summer, Morris Inn is excited to announce several events allowing its guests to truly experience “A Higher Degree of Hospitality” at the center of the University of Notre Dame campus.
Sorin’s Wine Academy, a monthly program held at Morris Inn, showcases an esteemed alumnus working in viniculture. Beginning September 6th with premiere winery Silver Oak, guests can enjoy an exceptional five-course meal perfectly paired with Silver Oak’s famous cabernet sauvignons, as well as a presentation from the winery and Morris Inn Executive Chef Patrick Dahms.
The first wine dinner featuring Silver Oak is taking place on Sunday, September 6th. Guests can take part in several other wine dinners this year including E. & J. Gallo Winery on Wednesday, October 14th, Allegrini Wines on Wednesday, November 11th, and Louis M. Martini Winery on Monday, December 7th. A reception is held before every wine dinner beginning at 6 p.m. Dinner follows the reception at 6:30 p.m.
Additionally, Grammy Award-winning opera singer, Nathan Gunn, will be performing alongside his wife, Julie Jordan Gunn, in Sorin’s on Thursday, September 10th and Friday, September 11th for an intimate night of cabaret, wine and food. Guests have the option to enjoy the dinner performance over a prix-fixe three course meal or over dessert.
The performances, beginning at 5:45 p.m. for the dinner set, and 9 p.m. for the dessert set, will offer selections ranging from Cole Porter and George Gershwin to Sting and Pearl Jam. Nathan Gunn visits the University of Notre Dame semiannually as part of an Artist in Residence Program where he collaborates with students, faculty and the Notre Dame community.
Registration for both events is available by visiting MorrisInnEvents.com.
