GRIFFITH – Jeremy Miller of St. John, regional vice president of Centier Bank, has been recognized as Lake Area United Way’s 2012 Volunteer of the Year.  He was cited for his outstanding volunteer service and fund raising.

The award was made during the Indiana Association of United Ways’ Volunteer of the Year Awards Banquet held recently at the Fountains Banquet and Conference Center in Carmel.

Miller was cited for his outstanding contributions serving as Centier Bank’s employee campaign manager and captain of the company’s United Way Day of Caring team which built a children’s play area at Haven House, a LAUW-funded shelter for abused women and their children.  In addition, he serves on United Way’s Success by Six Steering Committee, a regional initiative created to expand early childhood education to prepare kids to enter school ready to learn.
