GARY – Methodist Hospitals has been ranked 22nd among 121 hospitals in the Chicago area by U.S. News and World Report in its first Best Hospitals metro area rankings.
The ranking recognize 622 hospitals in or near major cities with a record of high performance in key medical specialties.
“All of these hospitals provide first-rate care for the majority of patients, even those with serious conditions or who need demanding procedures,” said Avery Comarow, editor of the rankings.
“Over the past two years, Methodist Hospitals’ progress has brought our institution to a point where we are poise to reclaim our heritage as the premier health care provider in Northwest Indiana,” said Ian McFadden, president and CEO of Methodist.
Other Northwest Indiana hospitals in the rankings were Community Hospital of Munster and St. Catherine Hospital of East Chicago, tied for 25th’; Porter-Valparaiso Hospital Campus, and St. Mary Medical Center, Hobart, tied for 34th.
