HOBART – The 13th annual South Shore Clean Cities meeting in Hobart recently focused on alternative fuels as a way to reduce the region’s use of fossil fuels.

Carl Lisek, executive director of the organization, said the group helped its members replace 340,000 gallons of gasoline with alternative fuels and cut greenhouse gases by two tons last year.

Among the organizations featured at the meeting was Fair Oaks Farms, which is using methane gas from its dairy herd to power its fleet of delivery trucks.
