If you have to do it, you might as well make it fun. Indiana University Health Starke Hospital is hosting a Mammography Party as a comfortable and healthy approach to the early detection of breast cancer. Participants may invite five friends or family members to the event, and attendees can have their mammograms completed at this time. Party goers will receive a free dexa (osteoporosis) screening, breast health information, a gift bag and refreshments.
The Mammography Party will take place at 8 a.m. and again at 10:30 a.m., May 17 at IU Health Starke Hospital, 102 E. Culver Road, Knox. Pre-registration is essential for both the mammogram and the party. All insurance types are accepted. If you do not have adequate insurance coverage, please call to see if you qualify for a mammogram voucher. Participants also may take advantage of the screening Mammography Special and receive their mammogram for $95. For this special, patients must be asymptomatic and have no prior history of breast cancer, and a physician order is not required. Patients are responsible for payment in full at time of service if using the mammography special. Acceptable payment is cash, check, credit or debit. While the party takes places on May 17, the screening mammogram special goes from May 1-31 and the exam must take place in that time.
