A community outreach effort by Methodist Hospitals helped the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana provide more than 1,000 meals to those in need around the Region.

Methodist regularly conducts service projects to assist community organizations. A recent effort was a food-and-fund drive to benefit the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.

According to the food bank, Methodist donated $250 along with an assortment of nonperishable items and canned goods.

The donations came from contributions provided by Methodist’s Northlake site in Gary and Southlake location in Merrillville, the food bank said.
