MICHIGAN CITY – The Lubeznik Center for the Arts in Michigan City has announced classes for artists interested in glass and crochet and a show of the work by Midwestern artists.
From 12:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, a Fused Glass class will be led by Twyla Butler. Basic glass working concepts will be covered, including layout, glass cutting, fusing and kiln work. The cost is $65.
On Friday, March 1, from 5-8 p.m., a free show of work by eight artists will be held in the main gallery. The, “Drawing to Conclusion, Line of Thought, and Realm of Dream. Among the artists whose drawing will be featured are Rick Lange, Christina Mrozik, Jennifer Nelson, Olivia Petrides, Monica Rezman, Lynn Retson, Matt Woodward and Monika Wulfurs. Drawings, paintings, photography and works in crochet and paper will be displayed.
From 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2, a free class for children will be held in how to crochet. Lu Hook, a 13-year-old crochet artist, will present the class aimed at children from 9 to 16 years old.
