Local Business’ Fire Relief Drive Aids Humane Society

After a fire damaged the linens and cleaning supplies of the Humane Society Calumet Area, JAK’S Warehouse and Pet Supplies Plus in Dyer took it upon themselves to organize a Fire Relief Drive. After a two week drive, local animal lovers came out in droves to show support with donations of towels, blankets, cleaning supplies, food, and more.

To inspire and reward donations, JAK’S Warehouse, an indoor family fun center, distributed free $5 Game Cards for every item contributed. Along with this, Pet Supplies Plus in Dyer provided an extra 10% off anything bought and donated in store. Donations were accepted at both locations.

“We at JAK’S Warehouse pride ourselves on being part of a great community,” said Lisa Carpenter, Director of Sales and Marketing at JAK'S Warehouse. “We’d like to thank everyone for their support in this great cause and for not hesitating to give back.” JAK’S Warehouse has made an effort to contribute to the region with fundraisers and drives for the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana's Hope Project and Highland Youth Sports to name just a couple.
