The Legacy Foundation held its 22nd Annual Meeting at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza located in Merrillville Indiana. Nearly 200 representatives from Lake County’s top civic and community based organizations were in attendance and heard reports from both the president and the chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Foundation.
“In the last few months alone, the Legacy Foundation has been recognized by two leading organizations for the great work we do”, said Carolyn Saxton, Legacy Foundation president and CEO. “We’re proud to have been recognized by the Northwest Indiana Association of Fundraising Professionals with the 2014 Foundation Philanthropist Award and the Secretaries’ Award for Public-Philanthropic Partnership from the Council on Foundations in partnership with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and the US Department of Agriculture,” Saxton went on to say.
Legacy Foundation was one of only 10 community foundations across the country to receive this prestigious award from the Council on Foundations in 2014.
