MERRILLVILLE – In the biggest programming shift since the station launched in January 2009, Lakeshore Public Media’s radio station, 89.1FM The Lakeshore, will expand its service.

With the addition of several hours worth of NPR’s flagship morning and afternoon drive programs, Morning Edition and All Things Considered, to its weekday schedule, The Lakeshore will now offer a full-fledged schedule of NPR’s most popular and durable shows.

Morning Edition now will air from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. and All Things Considered will airs from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Key elements of the station’s current morning and afternoon drive programs, including Indiana and local newscasts are at the top and bottom of every hour. The local hosts are Sharon Jackson and Chris Nolte in the morning and Tavis Buchan and Amanda Gass in the afternoon. Other local features like Steve Walsh’s daily newsmaker interviews and Buchan’s weekly Rotten Tomatoes film review feature will also continue as will relevant statewide segments like Inside Indiana Business and Hoosier Ag Today.
