MERRILLVILLE – Northwest Indiana’s only live and local television newscast, Lakeshore News Tonight, has moved to 6 and 10 p.m. on weeknights.

“The new time slots and extra news hour provide twice the opportunity to serve the community with local news when they want it,” said Matt Franklin, vice president of television operations.

Lakeshore News Tonight made its debut as 56 Nightly News in 1989 on WYIN Channel 56.
